About Community Church
Community Church was founded in 1905 and continues to reach out with the hope of Jesus Christ. As a church family we are blessed with a rich history of ministry and service to Susanville and the surrounding areas. Today, with God’s help, we desire to keep building upon this legacy of raising up generation after generation of fully devoted Christ-followers.
Community Church emphasizes three things; 1) Building bridges to those outside of the church, 2) Bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior, and then 3) Building up every believer in their faith. We will accomplish this by being biblical, relational, authentic, and relevant in our outreach, discipleship, and teaching. In short, we believe that if we do these things well, we honor God and are faithful to his teachings.
We take seriously our purpose, as stated in Matthew 28:19-20; “Community Church exists to be a missional and grace-oriented church that actively seeks the lost and grows the found!” Our community needs to know that people can be free from the guilt and penalty of sin, and enjoy the gift of God’s forgiveness which includes a fulfilling life here on earth and the promise of heaven to follow.
We extend to you a sincere welcome and an open invitation to come and join us any time as we worship the King of kings, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Purpose Statement:
Community Church exists to be a missional and grace-oriented church that actively seeks the lost and intentionally grows the found! We will accomplish this by being real, relevant, and relational in our outreach, discipleship and teaching.
Our Core Values:
Community Church has 5 core values explained through the 5 M’s: Magnify, Mission, Membership, Maturity, and Mercy
We magnify God through worship. Our daily lives are to be lives of constant worship.
We are to join in the mission of God, redeeming a lost and dying world.
As we are discipled in our faith we become more mature.
Community Church provides many opportunites for people to be members in fellowship: Community Groups, Worship Services, Men’s, Women’s and Youth Events, and many more.
Community Church seeks to show the mercy of God through acting compassionately toward those in need in our local community and around the world.
