Summer is here, and that means we once again have the opportunity to minister at the Lassen County Fair. We will be manning the ticket booths and gates as well as handling the restroom clean-up twice a day. As you know, this is a tremendous fundraiser for the CEFC building fund. It raises $8000 yearly (that’s $32,000 in the last four years!!!!). The fair runs Wednesday, July 15, thru Sunday, July 19. Sign up and drop it in the offering. We will need ticket cashiers, ticket takers, counters, vehicle gate monitors and bathroom and garbage maintenance. PLEASE PLAN TO HELP; we can’t do it without you

As we have begun Sign-ups for the Indian Taco Booth, we invite you to be a part of this event!
It’s not only an opportunity to help our students raise money for future events, but it can be a great opportunity to get to know some of them and build some great friendships. We’ll have sign-up sheets available between services and at the church office. If you cannot donate your time, please contact Pastor Fong to find out other ways you can help out (a donation of supplies would be greatly appreciated).

Swine flu and increased criminal activity are just two problems facing our mission trip this summer. As a result, Pastor Rick was unable to visit the mission site in May. So plans are being made to visit in June. Keep in 
mind that safety is our highest priority. That being said, here are the dates for our PROPOSED Mexico Mission trip to Ensenada: August 1-8, 2009. The cost will be approximately $225 per person, and you will need a valid U.S. passport. Those not currently in high school will need to be accompanied by a parent. Our trip is dependent on a minimum number of 20 participants and things being safe enough for us to travel across the border.

Men, join us at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, Saturday, June 13th. You know the spot, the kitchen under the grandstands. Enter through the gate on the Armory side (Russell St.). It all starts at 7:30am, and why not bring a neighbor or friend from work? As always, there will be sharing, worship and a great time. That’s Saturday, June 13th!

We have completed the process of revising the Constitution and By-Laws. There will be a vote for the proposed new Constitution and By-Laws at the Annual Business Meeting on May 3rd at 12:30pm.

MAUNDY THURSDAY WORSHIP
This is something new for us here at Community Church; but it is a rich and meaningful service. We will have two services 6:00PM and 7:30PM, both will be reflective and meditative as we consider the night before our Lord’s death. Historically in the church, this day commemorates Christ’s Last Supper and the initiation of Christian Communion and that will be our main focus. Join us for this special time.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE
The Susanville Evangelical Minister’s Fellowship will be hosting their annual Community-Wide Good Friday service April 10. The service runs from 12:05 -12:55 and will take place at Gospel Tabernacle (Ash & Fourth St.). Join us for worship, special music and a time of reflection on the cross of Christ. Please join believers from all of Susanville for this special time together.
EASTER WORSHIP & BRUNCH
Community Church will be presenting The Witness on Easter Sunday, April 12. It is a moving story of the last days of Christ as seen through the eyes of the Apostle Peter. Please join us at 8:00am (nursery available) or at 10:45am (nursery & children’s programs available).
We will also be hosting a brunch at the 9:30 hour. In order to have enough for all, please bring the following according to your last name: A-E…Fruit, F-L…Cheese & Crackers, M-P…Deviled Eggs and Q-Z…Pastries. Why not invite your family or friends to this special day of worship. Invitations will be available at the Welcome Center.
